A mini site is a simple 2 or 3 page website, that sells (most typically) a single product.
That product can be anything from a short PDF report to a fully blown high ticket physical product. The product is irrelevant, what counts is the business model.
A mini site is quite possibly the simplest online business model there is, for several reasons:
- You can set up a mini site easily
- You don’t require much technical expertise to create a mini site
- You can have a mini site online in just a day or so
I have a special report to give to you that will show you how to create a mini site.

Okay so once you’ve downloaded and read the report -
taken action and got your first mini site setup,
Now all you need is targeted traffic…
One of the easiest and quickest places to get highly targeted traffic from is a site called Yahoo! Answers.
Traffic couldn’t be more targeted than people asking for a solution!

Do you like flushing money down the toilet?
Neither do I.
But most people are doing it without even realizing it.
Why?
Because they’re sending traffic to affiliate products without capturing email addresses.
This means these affiliates are flushing about 85%-90% of their profits away.
It’s sad.
But it’s true.
And it needed to be said.
Because the vast majority of money on the internet is made on the back-end (i.e. on follow up offers served up after the initial sale).
This brings us to the key to easy affiliate profits: lead capture.
New and inexperienced affiliates spend all their time building up the business of the product owner.
It’s the product owner that’s capturing the email addresses and if you aren’t capturing emails, you’re building their business and they’re making all the profits with the follow up.
Smart affiliates spend their time leveraging somebody else’s product to build their own business that makes them money 365 days a year!
ALWAYS capture the emails of the traffic you create.
The problem is, most affiliate don’t have a clue how to do it and to be honest with you, I didn’t know how to do it for a long time. So how do you send traffic to another person’s site and still capture the buyer’s email address? It’s a dilemma for most people.
What you need:
Your own domain name, I use NameCheap to register my domain names, use the coupon code “SPRINGSUN” without the quotes during March for a discount.
Webhosting, I use HostMonster but you do have to pay yearly upfront, if your strapped for cash then HostGator is the hosting company to go with, loads of my internet marketing friends use them and their customer service is excellent.
Autoresponder, I use Aweber to follow up with prospective customers because it has the best deliverability rates in the industry.
A HTML editor, I use DreamWeaver but Kompozer is free.
Watch the video below on how to create a squeeze page using Kompozer.
All you need to do is build a squeeze page, add in your Aweber code (with either the forward url or confirmation url set to the affiliate site you want to drive traffic to) and upload it to your hosting account, now all you have to do is drive traffic to your squeeze page to capture emails and start building your own business.

Spy On Your Competition – Super Quick Marketing Tips Daily Video #1
I am currently reading the book Yes Man: The Amazing Tale of What Happens When You Decide to Say – Yes by Danny Wallace.
It is one of the funniest books I have ever read and quite amazing how Danny’s life changes when he starts to say yes more…
So on to today and I get an email about some new wordpress themes, I didn’t purchase them but it certainly got me thinking about my current theme, I said to myself ‘Yes, I will change my theme’.
So here it is, the new minimalist theme to MartinLodey.com
What do you think?
I have some other changes long over due, the first being ‘Super Quick Marketing Tips Daily Videos’ – These will be short videos giving you…
Marketing tips that you can implement to grow your business on a daily basis (would never have guessed that!)
Until tomorrow…
Over the last couple of weeks I have done very little to grow my business, I took time off to spend with my girlfriend and our friends and families, my sister recently had a baby girl so I became an Uncle for the first time.
Now it is back to normal after all the excitement over the Christmas and new year period and time to get on with some work towards reaching my goals.
I do know that Paull Hamilton got an all in one knife and fork to help him save time, I got a HD camcorder to make some video clips and stuff to help me with my video marketing.
What did you get for Christmas that will help you with your online business?
Please leave your answers and comments below.
It’s been a while, mainly due to the fact I have something to look forward to in the new year, the removal of my wisdom teeth…
I am not sure how this is going to affect me as more often than not I don’t feel too wise anyway!
At least the pain will go.
So what have I been up to in the mean time?
I have integrated a customer registration form into my one time offer, this will allow me to follow up with customers with a different autoresponder sequence – a list of buyers is GOLD! People that don’t purchase the oto will be followed up with emails written by the one and only Frank Kern (thanks to my Mass Control Monthly membership
)
More planning – remember, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
My short term goals to achieve are:
- Drive 100 targeted visitors a day to my blog.
- Increase the page rank of my blog from PR1 to PR2.
- Post to my blog at least twice a week with one post targeted to a specific key phrase.
- Add the follow up series of emails, mentioned above, to my autoresponder.
- Start promoting the hell outta my squeeze page.
- Cover my Aweber cost twice over (already got a check for $50.16 this month)
My longer term goals are:
- Own a responsive 3000 strong mailing list in 90 days.
- Have an autopilot traffic stream in place.
- Create my own product.
- Quit my J.O.B
What are your goals and plans for the future?
And now on to my tip of the day…
In response to Theresa’s tip contest.
How to keep on top of being on top.
There are two important tools I use for this, both from Google.
The first is Google alerts, I have subscribed to my own name for obvious reasons but also any keywords or key phrases that are relevant to my blog and landing pages. Google emails you an update each time a new web page is indexed that matches your alert. You can also setup blog alerts using the Google blog search and add these to your alerts in exactly the same way.
The second tool is Google reader, I use this to read all of the rss feeds of all of the blogs I just so happen to be subscribed to, I have organised the feeds in to many different folders, such as Alex Jeffrey’s student blogs, do-follow blogs, blogs with CommentLuv installed, plus others. You are then able to click on any folder, and in list view, can easily see the blog post titles and view anything that interests you or catches your eye. (Make a note of the titles that grab your attention and start a swipe file).
Try them out…
You may wonder how you ever lived without them.

Until next time…
I have just installed the CommentLuv and Lucia’s Linky Love plugins to my blog.
CommentLuv is a great plugin that rewards my commenters by parsing their last (or selected) blog post to the bottom of their comment. Excellent!
Linky Love rewards the commenter with a share of page rank after three approved blog comments by converting the comment links to “dofollow”. Fantastic!
There are loads of options with each plugin to suit your needs.
A quick tip if you are using Feedburner and commenting on blogs with Commentluv installed, go to your Feedburner settings, under the Feedburner Stats Pro option, uncheck the Item link clicks box, this will limit your ability to see how many clicks your feed generated but this will direct the parsed rss comment to be linked directly to your blog instead of via Feedburner, thus giving you the link luv instead of Feedburner getting it.
Now get commenting…
To kick things off, how about answering this question, what one wordpress plugin do you love the most and why?
I would like as many people as possible to comment as I have some great ideas for the answers I receive…
…Think re-brandable ebook, and each commenter will get a copy!
Until next time…
Everyone wants more traffic to their blog and this has to be the easiest method for generating blog visitors.
Below is the step by step method to legally hijack other peoples blog traffic.
1) Find ten to twenty high traffic blogs in your niche
2) Comment on posts
That’s it, easy or what?
To find the blogs, simply do a search in Google for “blog” + “your niche”, find blogs that are posted to regularly and have some comments on each blog post. You can use Alexa.com to give you a rough idea of the traffic that the blog receives, the lower the Alexa rank, the higher traffic that blog receives.
Once you have found your blogs, monitor them and as soon as a post is made, make a comment on that post, make sure you add value to the blog post – always be thinking “what is in this for other blog readers”, perhaps you could give an additional tip, disagree with the blog post and back up you claims, give an insight into your business, etc.
Don’t forget to leave your blog url in the website link box when you make a comment.
Provided you have added value to the blog post, other blog readers will click on your name and come visit your blog.
Follow this simple 2 step plan on a regular basis and you will start to see an increase in your own blog traffic and comments.
Now get it going…
Until next time…
The money is in the list… The money is in the list.
Everyone is telling you to build a list, then you will make money online.
Crap…
You may make the odd sale here and there but the money just aint gonna flow if you’re promoting, promoting, promoting.
The Money is actually in your relationship with your list.
Let me say that again, the money is in your relationship with your list.
You need to build and nurture that relationship, treat your list as you would a loved one, a mate, your best friend, like your list, love your list.
A relationship is two way, get your list to interact with you, get them to ask questions, answer those questions, send them a link to a cool video on YouTube, direct them to an article on your blog, tell them stories, get them to post comments on your blog, squidoo lenses, twitter, anything to get that two way interaction going.
Provide value…
and be yourself.
Take Frank Kern for example, the guy’s a freakin genius.
He sends out an email to his list promoting a product, tells people NOT to buy from his link because he was too lazy to make a bonus for it, tells them to buy from someone who actually is offering a bonus, and Frank still makes sales, correction, Frank makes one hell of a lot of sales.
Think about it.
Until next time…
