Google Introduces Improved Keyword Search Volume

2008 July 13

Something huge happened in the internet world this week and you need to know about it.

This week marked a new change in Google Adwords which will be great news to all of us.

Google have actually done something that they said they would never do and it probably spells the end for services like Wordtracker.

Here’s a brief overview…

If you have ever used Google Adwords you will know that they always represented search volume for a keyword with a green bar graph.

Earlier this week they did away with that and started to to show the actual search volume for keywords.

Wordtracker keyword volumes have sometimes been accused of being inaccurate because they make predictions from only 2% – 3% of actual search activity.

Now that Google has made this change, you will be able to get a much more accurate search volume.

Go try it out at

Enter a keyword and you will see Google’s estimate of actual search volume.

How will this affect your keyword and market research?

Using these much more accurate Google search volumes you can be much more certain of the size of a niche.

I won’t recommend software very often but this recent service is brilliant. It is a keyword tool having a database of millions of key phrases showing the adwords traffic count per month together with the google competition count and other figures.

At a click of a button you can find keyword phrases with traffic but no competition and I have used it already to get web pages and web sites to the top of the search engines, even with no backlinks.

You can see a video of it in use here – http://MarketEyeSite.com
